Web Design or Kayaking to Orcas?
Here's what a working day can be like at GoTofino.com. Sitting in
front of the computer and a phone call comes in. 'There are orcas in the inlet.
I'm watching them from my boat.' I head for the door, grabbing my dry bag, life
jacket, paddle and camera on the way. I fly down to the beach, slide my kayak
into the water and start paddling like crazy. I can see my husband out in his
boat pointing, but I'm a long way off. Paddle, Paddle, Paddle. Oh good, here's
the boat: I jump into the boat, pull in my kayak and we check out the whales.
Of course we don't want to disturb them so we stay way back. I set my pocket camera to max zoom and start shooting. So, the photos aren't great but the excitement behind them was overwhelming. To see these magnificent animals in their natural environment was truly a gift. And to see two little ones along with a parent was extra special. So, next time you're thinking of seeing whales in their true home, come to our home and we'll be happy to show you around. Come to Tofino.
